  REVIEW:

Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang  . . . the best “bang, bang” movie since Chitty, ChittyKiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang will definitely be an award winner; most notably, the MTV Movie Award honors for Best Onscreen Kiss for the unsettling - but hilarious - encounter between Val Kilmer and Robert Downey Jr.

When you go to a movie, you just hope this could be the one that is a special combination of a perfectly told story that is highly entertaining with great directing and impeccable acting…well…this is that movie.  Robert Downey Jr. plays a petty thief and while running from the cops one night, stumbles into an audition and is mistaken for a great actor.  He is whisked off to Hollywood for a screen test where he is hooked up with a Private Investigator (Val Kilmer) to learn the ropes for the character he is going to play.  Along the way, he crosses paths with the girl he was desperately in love with as a kid.  The three of them are thrown headlong into the middle of two murder mysteries they feel compelled to solve themselves.  Even though the movies plot is somewhat twisted, you will find yourself laughing hysterically at the characters and their seemingly hopeless situations.

Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang is entertaining on every level.  A compelling story with rich, sophisticated humor and superb acting, this movie is a masterpiece.  Writer/director Shane Black may very well be the real Quentin Tarantino; Val Kilmer the real Alec Baldwin; and Robert Downey Jr. the real Robert Downey Jr.  Downey ’s portrayal of a fun, irresponsible, out of control guy is flawless, so much so that you wonder if the actor and the character are indeed the same.   If you’re interested in a unique and entertaining experience and can only see one movie this year, make it this one!

On the Movie Night Traffic Light on a scale of GREEN meaning “Go – it’s a must see”, YELLOW meaning “Caution – it’s okay” and RED meaning “No - stop don’t do it."

We rate Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang a GREEN.  Go – The material is very adult oriented, but a hilarious must see.
